The Call of Duty: Black Ops series’s most famous map, Nuketown, always seems to have an Easter egg in store for players with every game it makes an appearance in, and Cold War is no different. Nuketown 84 is Cold War’s variant of Nuketown, and the map will launch for all players on November 24. That said, Redditor PimpOutMyPC managed to glitch into Nuketown’s custom map and teased the new Easter egg.
The way to activate the Easter egg has always been the same throughout all of the Call of Duty: Black Ops games. Players just have to run around the map and shoot off all the mannequins’ heads, which will trigger the Easter egg. After shooting out all the heads, a new digital filter will be applied, which turns the entire map blue. The Easter egg also turns the sky purple and starts playing a new Nuketown audio track.
Personally, I prefer the Easter egg in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, as it included a sweet Atari playable mini-game. This Easter egg was a bit harder to achieve on Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 as you had to shoot out all the mannequins’ heads in under a minute and thirty seconds.
The Nuketown map is one of the most popular maps in the Call of Duty community, which is why Activision always includes it. Nuketown always seems to start out as a paid map and then eventually becomes free to play after a few months. The new texture rework and graphics make Cold War’s Nuketown 86 a pretty cool entry into the Nuketown collection.
As an added bonus to get players hyped about the new map, Activision is offering a free Nuketown weapon bundle for players who have purchased the game. To claim the bundle, players have to login before December 3 and the bundle will automatically be added to the player’s account.
