With Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War officially revealed, fans have been getting a steady stream of new info and leaks about it. Activision has confirmed recently that Black Ops Cold War will be getting free post-launch DLC.
Fans always appreciate free DLC, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will play the same game as Cyberpunk 2077 and Control: Ultimate Edition when it comes to post-launch content. Post-launch content assures that the game will not become stale in the future, and free DLC allows all players to enjoy new content, updates, and events. The publisher has promised a "steady stream of post-launch content" for Call of Duty fans.
First up, all post-launch multiplayer maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be completely free. This is great news for the player base as everybody having access to all multiplayer maps will allow for better a metagame and quicker matchmaking. All that players have to do to enjoy these maps is free up some download space for the post-launch content.
Additionally, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be bringing back the Battle Pass. However, it is unclear whether it will be similar to the one that's available in Modern Warfare. Buying the Ultimate Edition will give you a season-long Battle Pass. Those who buy the Standard Edition or the Cross-Gen Bundle of the game will have to buy the Battle Pass separately.
Activision also confirmed that the post-launch Zombies experience in Black Ops Cold War will also be entirely free.
The known list of free post-launch content for Black Ops Cold War is focused on the multiplayer aspect of the game. This is great for Black Ops Cold War, as the multiplayer experience tends to keep fans entertained for a long time after they've completed the campaign. Activision will be revealing more about Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer on September 9.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is releasing on November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will also release sometime later.
