It's only been a few hours since Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War released a reveal trailer, and already a plethora of information regarding the game has been popping up. Thanks to leaks, hardcore fans already know about the game's multiplayer, campaign, cross-gen progression, and cross-gen editions of the game.
Even though it can be difficult to keep up with all these new details, publisher Activision is certainly doing a great job in building hype among fans. Recently, a dataminer suggested that Black Ops Cold War will have an Ultimate Edition and Cross-Gen Bundle, leading many of us to believe that Activision will not be offering a free next-gen upgrade of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Many Call of Duty fans who heard of this rumor weren't really happy with Activision's decision, considering that other third-party companies like Ubisoft and CD Projekt Red are offering free next-gen upgrades for their upcoming games.
Activision has now confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have three bundles: the Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Bundle, and Ultimate Edition. The Cross-Gen Bundle and Ultimate Edition are the only two editions of the game offering the next-gen upgrade.
The Standard Edition of Black Ops Cold War comes with the current-gen version of the game (PS4, Xbox One, or PC) and the Confrontation Weapons Pack, and it is priced at $59.99. The Cross-Gen Bundle will sell for $69.99, and offers a next-gen upgrade for the game to either the Xbox Series X or PS5 version. Finally, the Ultimate Edition is priced at a whopping $89.99, which includes the Cross-Gen Bundle, the "Land, Air and Sea Pack," a new operator and weapon skins, and three weapon blueprints. Additionally, the Ultimate Bundle also includes the Call of Duty Battle Pass Bundle, which features the Season 1 Battle Pass and 20 Tier Skips.
Pre-ordering Black Ops Cold War grants you early open beta access and a Frank Woods operator bundle. The Frank Woods operator bundle was also leaked earlier, and it includes the playable Frank Woods character and an assault rifle weapon blueprint for "immediate use" in Modern Warfare and Warzone. Pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition will also allow you to skip ten tiers in both of these games.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is releasing on November 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game will also release sometime later.
