Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare ’s Retribution DLC is set to release Sept. 12 on PS4, so Infinity Ward has put together a new trailer to show off the expansion’s four multiplayer maps. Check out Heartland, Carnage, Altitude and Depot 22 in action.

Heartland is a redesigned version of Warhawk from Call Of Duty: Ghosts.

Starting with Heartland, Warhawk’s new coat of paint definitely lays the hazy apocalyptic atmosphere on thick, but it looks as fun as ever. Just like the Ghosts original, this version is truly built for all types of close-quarters battles. In particular, the trailer emphasizes some kind of robotics shop. It's definitely befitting the Infinite Warfare name, and we’re really excited to return to it. Activision’s various studios have always done a great job with refreshes of classic maps, and this one looks just as strong as its predecessors.

Next on the docket is Carnage. As advertised, it takes place on a post-apocalyptic race track. The trailer emphasizes dimly lit bar areas, rocky terrain outside and a rather steamy environmental hazard called the Burninator. If the brief cinematic is any indication, players won’t want to be caught in its crosshairs. Simply put, this is Call Of Duty’s take on Mad Max, and its design leaves plenty of space for combat.

From an aesthetic perspective, the sky mall of Altitude reminds us of Turista from DLC 2. As its name implies, this new environment is all about making the most of wall running, boost and anti-grav. Whether indoors or out, walls can carry players so high that you’re going to be watching the skies constantly for threats. The chaos is heightened by a closed-in midsection that will never feel safe to travel through.

Last but not least, Depot 22 might be the most generic member of the set. It’s a mid-sized map with three lanes and trains that travel upside down.

For those who missed our news update earlier this week, Retribution also brings the Infinite Warfare Zombies story to a close with a finale chapter called The Beast From Beyond. The four-player co-op team is finally headed to space to take on Willard Wyler’s last cinematic challenge. Given the intergalactic setting, many fans wonder if it might be tied to the Extinction narrative found in Call Of Duty: Ghosts.

Despite seemingly being on its last legs, it’s actually been a fairly busy week for Infinite Warfare. In addition to these DLC reveals, Infinity Ward also released the game’s 1.20 update that offers some weapon and mode balancing tweaks.

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Retribution DLC comes to PS4 Sept. 12 and Xbox One and PC in October.

‘Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ Review: The Shooter To Skip This Holiday Season
The rise of new properties, like Titanfall and Overwatch, combined with resurgent properties, like Destiny or Battlefield, make it hard to justify the shrinking number of new ideas in Call of Duty. Those who purchased Infinite Warfare on day one may not relate to anything in this article. But those with less fondness for the franchise, or just expecting COD:IW to at least match the quality of Advanced Warfare or Black Ops 3, should probably turn their attention elsewhere.
  • Cool weapons
  • A decent campaign story
  • Zombies is as fun and weird as ever
  • Multiplayer is too much of a grind for good weapons
  • There's not much originality in the entire package.
