If you want to get in on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster as soon as possible, pre-ordering Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on PS4 will let you start playing as early as this week.
According to Activision, pre-ordering Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on PS4 will allow you to download and start playing the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster on Wednesday Oct. 5. Only select retailers are allowing this offer, so if you are in the United States, you’ll have to pre-purchase from GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart or the PlayStation Store on your console. Oddly enough, both Target and Amazon are excluded from the promotion.
If you live outside of the United States, check this link to see what retailers are supporting this offer.
If you have already pre-ordered Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Legacy Edition or Legacy Pro Edition, you’ll need to go back to the store to complete the full purchase. Once you have done this, you’ll get a code to download and install Modern Warfare. If you have already pre-purchased on the PlayStation Store, your copy will automatically get added to your library.
It should be noted that in this early access window, only the single-player campaign will be available to play. A new download file will be available on launch day, Nov. 4, which will include the multiplayer modes. Progress made on the single-player campaign will carry over, so don’t worry about having to restart once Nov. 4 gets here.
So what do you think? Will you be taking advantage of this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare early access period? Are you bummed to see this offer only being offered on the PS4? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
