A new threat is coming and everyone in Appalachia needs to prepare. The Fallout 76 "The Coming Storm" event has started and it’s expected to run until July 6. This is a prelude to the Steel Reign update which arrives in July.
For this event, the first thing players must do is head over to the Atomic Shop and get the Brotherhood of Steel Backpack skin. Don’t worry because it's free.
Complete Challenges
Once the backpack skin is equipped, players can take on Daily Challenges to capture Workshops or complete in-game events in certain areas of Appalachia. For each challenge completed, players are rewarded with a free consumable like a Lunchbox, Perk Card Pack, or even Repair Kit.
In addition to getting rewards, finishing Daily Challenges also means earning progress on a recurring Weekly Challenge which comes with its own set of rewards. Those who can finish at least two Weekly Challenges before the event ends get to unlock the new Brotherhood of Steel Recon Helmet.
Steel Reign
Back in Steel Dawn, the Appalachian Brotherhood of Steel won the fight at Fort Atlas but at the expense of being bruised and battered. However, there’s no time to take a breather as a new threat has emerged.
The Steel Reign update coming in July will add a new questline letting players travel to new locations and unlock new items. They must navigate the increasing divide happening between Paladin Rahmani and Knight Shin to bring peace back to the wasteland.
Fallout 76 is an online RPG released in 2017 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game is a spin-off and serves as a prequel to the main series. It is the first multiplayer game released by Bethesda Game Studios. Fallout 76 gives players the ability to explore an open world, one that’s been destroyed by a nuclear war. Upon release, one of the criticisms that the game received was the lack of human NPCs. This issue was later addressed with the Wastelanders update released in April 2020.
