ChinaJoy 2019 ramped up over the weekend, and with it another host of titles from China-based developers as the country’s biggest gaming expo is now on the verge of ending. There are tons of games that were featured over the past few days, so be sure to stick around for our coverage of everything announced at this event, especially seeing as China is starting to gain footing in video game development – and that means more great games for everyone.
One of the titles unveiled is the warship strategy game Refight: The Last Warship. The game was originally released on Steam’s Early Access in May of this year. As announced in by Chinese developer Fantian, Refight: The Last Warship will soon be sailing towards the PlayStation 4.
Refight: The Last Warship is a tactical shooter based on naval battles, located specifically in the so called “Maritime Silk Road”: The Pacific Ocean. To succeed, players need to overcome harsh environments such as rain and fog, and escape from random bombing areas and expanding blizzards. The initial challenge may prove difficult to newcomers to the genre, as materials at the start are very scarce, making players rely on skill and intuition to explore areas and locate supplies to upgrade and strengthen their battleships. Conflict is expected in this warship strategy game, moreso if it is staged in a battle royale format, wherein you need to utilize all your battleships weapons such as its torpedoes, main guns, and vertical missiles to make sure you are at the top of your game on all possible fronts.
Similar to other titles in the tactical shooter genre, (World of Warships, War Thunder) Refight: The Last Warship is a free-to-play game that offers a number of multiplayer modes, and optional in-game purchases that may or may not provide an advantage whilst in combat.
Although no launch date has been announced yet, we can expect a PlayStation 4 release for the Refight: The Last Warship to come around Q4 2019, which is around the expected date for its Early Access phase to end.
ChinaJoy 2019 kicked off on August 2, and officially ended yesterday, August 5.
