Clash Of Clans continues to add new content in the absence of the Builder, and the latest limited reward is the Witch’s Shrink Trap defense. It makes all troops in its radius smaller and easier to destroy.
Here’s what the in-game event post says on the matter:
“The Builder is still gone and the Witch is filling in. Shrink, slow and weaken enemies all at once with her new trap. Shrink Traps are here for a limited time.” The timer shows a seven-day window and pushes players toward a video that describes how the trap works.
Through its fairly large radius, the Shrink Trap decreases the speed, HP and damage of any troop that enters. Troops return to normal once exiting the radius, but if you build enough of these traps together they can be a very formidable force. After all, its power applies to any troop in the game, including Heroes, and it doesn’t even matter how many troops get caught. Theoretically, it’s possible to shrink an entire army with a well-placed Shrink Trap. While certain troops like the Goblin, Minion or Miner may have methods to escape it, even they’re not immune to its impact. If you want to make the most of this new trap, our best tip is to surround it with plenty of high-HP structures to keep it standing.
The Clash Of Clans Clashiversary promotion continues throughout the month of August, and it’s been highlighted by events in the real world and in-game. In the absence of the Builder, other troops have been filling in to introduce new limited-time features to the game. The Barbarian brought us the Battle Ram and the Giant’s Hut became available last week. Based on leaks, it looks like an anti-trap might be next week’s surprise. There’s also mention of a free troop training event in the future as well.
Outside the app, the Builder has constructed P.E.K.K.A. statues and Tesla Towers in Brooklyn and Shanghai using local materials. Where will he show up next?
Clash Of Clans is available now on Android and iOS. The Shrink Trap will be available until Aug. 25.
