Clash Of Clans fans have been curious about the departure of the Builder from the game over the past few days, and now we have a clue as to what he’s up to. He’s built a P.E.K.K.A. statue and Tesla Tower right in the middle of Brooklyn. The structure will stand on Old Fulton St. until Aug. 14.

Of course, because the Builder himself is involved in the construction, he hasn’t made something without actual use. Next to the statue is a replica of a Tesla Tower, and it charges Tesla cars and phones via USB.
The Builder even wrote a message on the P.E.K.K.A. to tell fans what it’s for. Here’s what it says:
“Hey NYC, I noticed none of your architectural wonders could charge a cell phone. So I built one that could. It’s called a Tesla Tower. That statue is my friend P.E.K.K.A. She’s the nicest ferocious metal warrior I know. - Your Friend The Builder”
As cool as it’d be to have the actual Builder be responsible for something like this, we know he’s not. It’s truly constructed by agency Barton F. Graf. Possibly the best part about its design is that it’s built using supplies from the city itself. Looking close enough, you might notice traffic cones, a taxi hood and some purple LED lights. True to the Builder lore, this character uses what’s in front of him.
Speaking to AdWeek, Graf exec Jeff Benjamin mused about the implications of such a recognizable fictional character understanding the world as we know it.
“We’ve never had a hero leave the entertainment world—whether it was film, comic or gaming—and come to our world and make it better. Until now the Builder’s heroism has been contained to the Clash of Clans—but what would a hero do in ours? What does it mean to be a hero here when all your life you’ve wanted to build and help? This is just the beginning of an adventure that could only exist now because of platforms like Instagram and Facebook. They reframe what it means to be real, alive, and most of all, matter.”
As the Builder continues his journey, this statue is far from the last creation we’ll see in other major cities. Because these structures are being created as a surprise, there’s no telling where he’ll end up next.
Clash Of Clans just recently celebrated its fifth anniversary of being one of the most popular mobile games on the planet. It’s spawned an entire genre of smartphone experiences, and it continues to be relevant through frequent content updates.
It’s been an interesting summer for experiments with popular mobile games having an impact on physical places. Just weeks ago, Chicago hosted a large Pokémon Go Fest that brought fans together to collect legendary monsters and other cool bonuses. That promotion infamously failed due to server issues, but this Clash Of Clans concept is far more controlled.
Clash Of Clans is available now on Android and iOS.
