It has been 25 years since the first-ever Pokémon game was launched and started what would become a giant franchise. There have been a lot of celebrations honoring this particular milestone. This time around, it’s apparel giant Converse joining the fun.
Converse is offering a wide range of Pokémon-inspired footwear, apparel, and accessories that are sure to make the day of every fan. Making it even better is it’s all about the Kanto region, the place where it all started.
One of the items that fans can add to their collection is the Converse x Pokémon First Partners Chuck Taylor All Star. For those not familiar with the brand, the Chuck Taylor All Star has long been seen as a classic symbol when it comes to style, self-expression, and accessibility. This time it’s been made to fit the entire family from infants to adults. Fans should be excited to know that the asymmetrical pair features a graphic print of Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu.
Another item is the Pokémon 25th Celebration Hoodie. This is inspired by the rock tour merchandise and designed with the “electrified” Converse and Pokémon graphics. Long-time fans of the franchise should know that this refers to Pikachu’s Electric-type Moves.
Those who want something in the “cute” department can go for the Jigglypuff Sherpa Crew Neck Sweater. This Mallow Pink sweater has been embroidered with an edgy Jigglypuff graphic, which highlights this Pokémon’s cute but rather edgy personality.
What else is on the table? Well, how about the Pokémon Team and Pikachu T-Shirts? These long and short sleeve t-shirts highlight Pokémon favorites through graphic prints as well as the 25th celebration branding. The short sleeve t-shirt has a crew neck design centered on Pikachu incorporating its tail as part of Converse's star chevron logo. Meanwhile, the long-sleeve t-shirts are in black and red which highlight the Pokémon team through a graphic at the front and wordmarks on the sleeves.
If shoes and apparel are not your thing, then go for the backpacks. The Camp Cap Backpack has a retro-style camp cap and features a Pikachu graphic on the front with the “electrified” Converse wordmark on the back. The GO 2 Backpack, on the other hand, has a lightning graphic that pays homage to Pikachu’s powers.
