The IEM Global Challenge match between Natus Vincere and Team Liquid just concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
Mirage was the first map picked by Liquid. Liquid started with a strong 5-0 lead with Grim carrying the team. But Flamie started to make shots after round six that helped NaVi change the momentum. Both teams held out really well until overtime. After that, NaVi was able to read Liquid and stopped them completely.
s1mple’s skills with the AWP was impressive. He managed to rack up over 32 kills by the end of the game. Combining s1mple’s fragging potential and Flamie’s clutches, NaVi took the lead and won the first map with a 19-16 scoreline.
The second map was played on Nuke. The first round showed some impressive gun skills from both teams. NaVi and Liquid kept trading with each other until it was down to a 2v2 situation. Then, NaVi succeeded in playing post plant and took the first round. NaVi played super aggressive in round three. They rushed into A site and killed the members of Liquid before they could even fall back into the site.
Unlike on Mirage, NaVi played Nuke extremely well that allowed them to take the map with a 16-10 scoreline. We usually see most teams go into overtime and then brawl until one team wins, so this outcome was a surprise to most viewers.
