Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled’s first Grand Prix event, the Nitro Tour, may be nearing its end, but it’s only just beginning for Beenox and Activision as both developer and publisher have now announced their next Grand Prix this August, one that will take players way, way back – Back N. Time, that is.
In a press release on the Activision site, it’s been revealed that the next Grand Prix titled Back N. Time will be starting this Friday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The Grand Prix is available for free to all owners of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and those playing online, and this particular iteration will be available to play until August 25.
As with the first, this Grand Prix season will come with new characters, skins, karts, customization items, and of course, a new track. Activision also released an infographic on what players can expect from this newest Grand Prix, which you can view below.
First off, the newest track for the Back N. Time Grand Prix is the Prehistoric Playground, modeled after those Prehistoric levels from Crash Bandicoot: Warped. It’s filled with very large flora, active geysers, wall paintings, plus those giant dinosaurs that are part of the actual courses themselves.
This newest Grand Prix offers some new rewards as well, and you can expect to earn 18 of them as you fill up your Nitro Gauge by earning Nitro Points. Some of these new items include the Nostalginator and Mammoth Karts, plus a “Dashing” skin for Fake Crash and some Cave Painting stickers. As for reward characters, the Bronze tier holds Baby T. as he makes his debut in CTR. You can earn his “Fake” Baby T. skin by completing the Gold Tier of the Nitro Gauge.
With this new season comes new stuff to buy in the Pit Stop, and among those are two new characters that you will most definitely swoon over. For the Back N. Time Grand Prix, players can purchase infant versions of Crash and Coco to wreak havoc and race with the rest of the cast across the Stone Age. In addition, expect some new skins, like Mad Scientist Crash, Sabertooth Pura, and Stone Age N. Tropy, customization items for your karts, and the Probulot 2000, which is the beloved kart from Crash Tag Team Racing.
