Ubisoft has revealed that it will be adding offline mode support for The Crew Motorfest and The Crew 2 after its controversial decision to completely shut down The Crew's live service support.
The Crew Motorfest first launched in September last year and has had four Seasons' worth of free post-launch content updates. These post-launch content updates added new vehicles, playlists, customization options, and many more to the game.
The Crew Motorfest Year 2
The game's Year 2 promises to be its biggest update yet and will arrive on Nov. 6, 2024. One thing that players can expect is that The Crew Motorfest's map will get 50% bigger. All players will also get access to the entire island of Maui completely for free.
Maui will also be seamlessly integrated into the game world to let players freely travel between the two islands by sea, by air, or by land via a connecting bridge. One more thing to note about this is that there will be no loading screens, according to Ubisoft News.
The development team behind the game designed their recreation of Maui as its own district island by honoring real-life features. These include the road to Hana, thick bamboo forests, beautiful waterfalls, Kaihalulu beach's glowing red sands, and many more.
Continued Offline Support
The Crew Motorfest's Year 2 will be what kicks off the game's Season 5. This is the first of three Seasons in Year 2.
They will see the introduction of the Made in Japan Volume 2 and bring back a fan-favorite-themed playlist that has new neon-filled races, events, and locations.
Another thing that gets added in Year 2 is The Chase Squad, which is The Crew Motorfest's PvE content.
In this mode, you can hunt down racing rivals across the game's various islands. People who own the Gold and Ultimate Editions of the game also get access to this mode as part of the Year 2 pass and will unlock 20 additional vehicles, said GameSpot.
The fact that The Crew Motorfest and The Crew 2 will get offline mode support from Ubisoft is kind of the big deal here. This is because the studio shut down live service support for The Crew in March this year after 10 years.
In a social media post, Ubisoft noted that it has heard the concerns of its players about access to The Crew games. The decision was made as a show of commitment to the future of The Crew Motorfest and The Crew 2, according to PCGamer.
