Crossy Road's latest dinosaur update brings new and secret characters to the game. Find out how to unlock them all, here.
On Monday, Hipster Whale released its newest Crossy Road Dinosaur update, which includes 13 new figurines, special Flat Eric figurine and a secret character you must discover. After a long summer without any new figurines being added to the game, it’s great to see Crossy Road beginning its monthly updates again.

Standard Crossy Road Dinosaur Update Characters
- Stegosaurus
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Thesaurus – as he hops, he shoots out words with similar or related meanings.
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Parasaurolophus – has blasters on his head to shoot down other dinosaurs.
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Archaeopteryx – has airplane-like wings and flies his way across the game.
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Tyrannosaurus Rex – the biggest of them all, he can trample down some little obstacles.
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Paleontologist - you must use this guy to unlock secret character, Bones!
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Triceratops – small and quick
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Dilophosaurus – remember the nasty spitting dinosaur with the colorful flap of skin around its neck from the original Jurassic Park? This is him.

- Pachycephalosaurus –watch out for the raptors that dart quickly in front of you!
- How to get it: Win from the Gatcha prize machine or purchase for $0.99
- Unexpected Shrew – super tiny, you nearly miss him, but is great for speedy moving and getting high scores.

Special Character: Flat Eric
- What it does: Flat Eric comes with a set of stereo headphones on his head and as he’s hopping along musical notes fly through the air as the beats of Mr. Oizo accompany the gameplay.
- How to unlock it: We aren’t sure what Flat Eric’s official price will be but if you download and open the Crossy Road update today, you can find him in the list of new characters. Tap on him and you should see that his price is currently listed as $0.00. Simply tap on the price button and sign in with your Apple ID and you’ll get him completely free of charge. Again, this appears to be a limited time offer so if you want Flat Eric, make sure to get him while he’s still free.
Secret Character: Bones – he is a museum quality dinosaur skeleton
- How to unlock it: To unlock Bones, you will need to play as the paleontologist and collect all the bones that make up the dinosaur skeleton. Once collected you will unlock secret character Bones
