One of the perks of having created one of the most successful TV shows ever is that you can avoid the pressure of a regular release schedule. Larry David has been making Curb Your Enthusiasm for the last 17 years, often taking 2 or even 3 years between seasons. But Season 8 aired way back in 2011, and although Season 9 was announced a year ago, there have been few updates as to when it would be released.

We now have reasonably reliable information that it will premiere this fall. J.B. Smooth, who plays Leon on the show, announced at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia that the show would be returning on Oct. 1 of this year. While the skeptics among us might want to wait for HBO’s official announcement we can all agree that the news is pretty, pretty, prettaayy good.
