CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077’s gameplay will be featured in a new trailer next month at E3. The only catch, though, is that it just a video, and there are no demo opportunities for attendees. The news was confirmed by CD Projekt Red's Marcin Momot, the global community lead, via Twitter.
Momot's tweet reads:
"To answer many questions about the demo and whether or not @CyberpunkGame will be playable at E3 -- we are going to be hosting gameplay presentations (game played by us) in that cinema."
The global community lead also confirmed that a variety of showings for the upcoming game will be held at the expo. This will be behind closed doors to the show floor demos. For attendees who want to have a taste of the highly anticipated title, they better not have their hopes high. Momot said that gameplay demos are unplayable by attendees, but they can watch the footage at the Polish video game developer’s booth.
Back in March, the president and CEO of CD Projekt Red, Adam Kicinski, said that this year’s E3 is going to be “the most important one” for them. “We have really prepared a strong show,” he claimed.
While the gameplay is confirmed, Momot cautioned that he would not exactly go into details. He declined giving information as to what areas will be highlighted, or what kind of gameplay will be featured.
CD Projekt Red has been successful so far in revealing only a tip of Cyberpunk 2077’s iceberg. The last major update we've seen was back at E3 2018, but since then, the studio has kept the game under wraps.
Moreover, the studio confirmed that it would release at least two AAA titles by 2021. Obviously, one of them is Cyberpunk 2077. The other title, however, remains unannounced. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the company has expressed interest in the possibility of returning to the Witcher universe at some point.
Looks like E3 2019 is going to be a big show. Fans are already hoping to see a closer look at Cyberpunk 2077’s narrative, distinctive features, and environment, and it looks like we'll see a little more of the iceberg.
