This year we have seen tons of delays. Now, you can add one more game to the ever-growing list. Stray, the indie adventure game where you play as a cat, has been delayed to Q1 of next year. The innovative game is developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive.
Official Gameplay
The very first gameplay footage of Stray was revealed during the Annapurna Showcase event that took place yesterday. You can watch the trailer above.
In the trailer, we saw our protagonist, a cat, completing puzzles, fighting robot rats, and avoiding enemies. The world seems inspired by Cyberpunk, where all humans are dead and have been replaced by robots. As you would expect, not all robots are friendly. Your objective is to return to your family.
Stray is one of the few games letting you play as an animal. And honestly, who doesn’t wanna play as a cat. If you like playing as a cat, why don’t you try playing as a shark too?
The cat animations also look incredibly good, if not a little janky. But hey, the developer still has half a year to smooth out the kinks.
Platforms
As mentioned above, Stray will now launch in early 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The PC version of the game is only available on Steam, not on Epic Games Store. So, all of you Steam fanboys have no excuse to not buy the game. You can wishlist the game from over here.
It’s not mentioned yet if Stray is a timed console exclusive or not. If it is, you can expect the game to launch on Xbox or Nintendo after the exclusivity period ends.
Other Indie Games
Several other PlayStation console-exclusive indie games have been delayed recently. Kena: Bridge of Spirits has been delayed to September, Solar Ash delayed till October, and Little Devil Inside doesn’t even have a release window anymore.
So what do you think? Are you excited about Stray? Are you planning to pre-order the game or wait for reviews? On which platform will you play the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
