With the arrival Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Daisy Ridley became a force for change. Her performance as Rey in Episode VII reignited the Star Wars universe and paved the way for a new vision under Disney. Now she’s giving back to her fans who, in their own way, have been a force for change as well.
“May the Fourth” marks the annual celebration Star Wars Day, which Ridley noted in a new video while thanking fans for donating to Star Wars’ philanthropy, “Force for Change.” Over $1 million was raised for a number of charities, with Lucasfilm pitching in an extra million to Make a Wish. “We’ve raised an incredible amount for some brilliant charities,” says Ridley in her affable English accent.
As Ridley is in the midst of her thank you speech, an alien friend interrupts to deliver a present. Turns out it’s from fellow Star Wars co-star John Boyega, who plays Finn. What did he give her? You’ll just have to watch and see. Take a look at Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars Day thank you, below:
