A new patch for Dark Souls 3 will be released on Monday, for all three of the game’s launch platforms, and Bandai Namco has already given us some idea of what to expect from Dark Souls 3 v1.04 when the game’s next patch hits PSN, Xbox Live and Steam.
This will be the second Dark Souls 3 patch released by FromSoftware's in the game's first week on the market. Unlike the last patch, which seemed to focus primarily on client performance and game-breaking issues, Dark Souls 3 v1.04 will focus on the gameplay itself. The latest patch from FromSoftware takes aim at a variety of issues; however, pretty much everything addressed in this week's patch could be classified as a weapon tweak.
Specifically, Bandai Namco says the Dark Souls 3 community can expect "performance adjustments" for the Dancer's Enchanted Sword, Farron Flashsword, Greatsword, Soul's Greatsword and Winged Knight Twinaxes. The publisher says the DS3 team is also hoping to correct bugs that leave certain items unusable in certain locations throughout Lothric, including the Road of Sacrifices and the Cathedral of the Deep; two locales you visit relatively early in the Dark Souls 3 campaign. Patch notes for Dark Souls 3 v1.04 also confirm the studio will focus on "general balance adjustments" and other bug fixes; however, there's no word yet on which issues FromSoftware is currently focused.
Here’s everything Bandai Namco has confirmed from Dark Souls 3 v1.04:
- Performance adjustment for “Greatsword”
- Battle performance adjustment for “Dancer’s Enchanted Sword”, “Winged Knight Twinaxes”
- Performance adjustment for “Soul’s Greatsword”, and “Farron Flashsword”
- Fix for issue where multiple items become impossible to use at “Road of Sacrifices”, “Farron Keep”, “Cathedral of the Deep” after clearing the game.
- General balance adjustments and bug fixes
