In a recent interview with Wired, Norman Reedus, who played the main protagonist, Sam "Porter" Bridges in Death Stranding, hinted that more games in the series are a possibility. This is really exciting news, as a weird game like Death Stranding felt like a one-off, but if there’s more to offer then we will happily take it.
Death Stranding has received critical reception from fans and critics, with the praise focused toward its innovative concept, soundtrack, and graphics. Although, it is not a perfect game for everybody. For some it will feel like a really expensive walking simulator.
In the interview, Reedus talked more about how he was hired for the game and his relation with the game director Hideo Kojima. You can watch the entire video below:
"I did the videogame because Guillermo Del Toro originally called me and said, 'Hey, a guy named Hideo Kojima's gonna call you. Just say yes.' And I was like, 'Who is he?' 'Doesn't matter who he is, just say yes'," Reedus said in the interview. "And then I met Hideo at Comic-Con in San Diego, he came out back when we were gonna do a different game, and he showed me what he was working on. I was just blown away, the guy's like a super-genius, and then I became friends with him, started working with him, and we kept going. So we did Death Stranding, which was a huge hit, and we're in talks to do other stuff."
He also said that there are in talks with Kojima about “maybe doing some Death Stranding stuff”. We don’t know what this means, but it could be related to a proper sequel or a spin-off. Is the game currently in development, or are they just throwing up ideas? Only time will tell.
Death Stranding was initially a PS4 exclusive, but a PC port has been confirmed. The game is currently available to pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PC version will also come with an improved Photo mode.
