Bungie released hotfix 2.8.0.1 for Destiny 2 yesterday which added some important changes to how artifacts will be played out in Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner.
Bungie tweeted out saying that there would be a maintenace and players will be force logged out. “Destiny 2 maintenance has begun. Players will be removed from activities at 9:45 AM PDT and be unable to log in until 10 AM when Hotfix 2.8.0.1 will be available.”
This maintenance will prepare us for Hotfix 2.8.0.1 releasing on Mar. 19, which includes a fix to disable Artifact Power in Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner.

In another tweet, the developer explained that they would disable artifact power in Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner. Artifacts are basically equipment/mods which help you increase your light level and give buffs to your character stats. This was a very bad option for Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner as it made the game very hard. Players could make different builds and become way stronger.
Now, with the removal of artifact power, those extra buffs will be removed, but you still have to grind your light level as they have not disabled light level difference.

The new Trials of Osiris will kick off today, and it goes on every weekend starting on Fridays at 1 PM ET. So, grab your Trials of Osiris partners and begin grinding your way to the top. Make sure you grind your light level to at least 1000 so you have a little advantage over the new players.
