The last planned patch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Destiny is now available for download, a little under two months before the game’s next expansion hits stores, but there aren’t many changes worth discussing in the patch notes for Destiny 2.3.1.0.
This week’s Destiny patch doesn’t alter the game in ways that many players will notice. That shouldn’t come as much of a shock either, given the lack of new content added to Destiny this summer. The new update features less than a dozen bug fixes, targeting everything from faulty Solar damage-over-time effects to a bug that prevented players from receiving their Legendary Marks after finishing certain daily story missions. But it does come with a warning that Destiny 2.3.1.0 is the last patch Bungie plans to release for last-gen platforms. We’ve known for several weeks that meaningful support for the game will end before the September debut of Destiny: Rise Of Iron. But we’re not sure anyone expected that support to end this early.
Fortunately, for those still unwilling (or unable) to upgrade their console, Bungie isn’t planning to completely abandon Destiny players on Legacy platforms. Sure, PS3/360 players won’t be able to buy new gear from Xur, take part in timed events (like Sparrow Racing League) or take a crack at the Trials of Osiris. But Bungie does promise to continue releasing emergency fixes, as needed, if any major bugs (or other issues) surface in the months following Rise of Iron’s debut. Legacy players will also have access to a several existing in-game activities, like Armsday and the Prison of Elders.
Here are the complete patch notes for Destiny 2.3.1.0, via Bungie:
Classes
Fixed an issue where Solar-based Damage-Over-Time (DoT) effects were dealing half their intended damage
Fixed an issue where the Intellect stat was not generating the correct amount of Super energy
Fixed an issue where selecting the Electrostatic Mind perk removed the Super regeneration provided by the Intellect stat
Armor
Exotics
Fixed an issue that prevented the Apotheosis Veil helmet from being accessible in the Exotic Armor Blueprints kiosk
Activities
Fixed an issue that could cause weekly activities from ending earlier than the weekly reset
Fixed an issue that prevented Legendary Marks from being granted when finishing the "Paradox" and "Lost to Light" missions when they are the featured Daily Story Mission
