Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is all set to release its latest content update. Dubbed “Episode 2 – Pentagon: The Last Castle," this is projected to be the biggest update yet, and offers a variety of game improvements. Players can expect to try his new content starting October 15.
This latest episode is part of the game's Year 1 free content which features escalation in Washington D.C. In this latest episode, players need to solve the ongoing outbreak crisis and uncover what secret lies inside the Pentagon before The Black Tusk takes it all away.
Features of Episode 2 – Pentagon: The Last Castle include:
- Two New Main Missions
- At the start of the episode, players are tasked with investigating a transmission sent in by a fellow Agent.
- Agents need to secure the bioreactor in order to replicate the antiviral samples that were recovered at Tidal Basin.
- Agents also need to take back the Last Castle from the Black Tusk Forces and once they secure this, be able to access two replayable main missions:
- First Main Mission - Pentagon:
- Agents discover that a perfusion bioreactor can be found inside the underground research facility of the Pentagon. The problem is that Black Tusk have already infiltrated the lab and are trying to extract the reactor.
- Second Main Mission - DARPA Research Labs:
- Players need to make their way through the Pentagon and into the DARPA Labs. Here the Black Tusk are already starting the process of transporting the perfusion bioreactor.
- First Main Mission - Pentagon:
- New “Technician” Specialization
- Players that have the Year 1 Pass or subscribed to you UPLAY+ get to immediately unlock the Technician Specialization beginning October 15.
- Those who don't have the pass need to complete a series of objectives in order to get this.
- The new Specialization includes:
- Signature Weapon:
- P-017 Launcher – a multi-missile launcher
- Agents can lock-on and hit up to six enemies
- Sidearm:
- Maxim 9
- Skill Variant:
- Artificer Hive
- Grenade Mod:
- EMP Grenade
- Signature Weapon:
- Classified Assignments
- This feature is exclusive to Year 1 Pass holders and UPLAY+ subscribers. Here Agents can take on two new Classified Assignments:
- Marina
- Outcasts have been moving both weapons and supplier through a boathouse on the Potomac River. This is the same transport depot using during the outbreak to move assets. Agents need to investigate and seize all the weapons they can find.
- Embassy
- A Joint Task Force helicopter that is filled with supplies has been shot and crashed through the roof of the Mexican Embassy. Agents have to locate the helicopter, rescue the pilot, and secure the supplies. All before the Outcasts arrive.
- Marina
- New Conflict PvP Mode
- The new mode has two teams of four players fight against each other in a Bo7 battle.
- The rounds end when either the whole team has been wiped out or time has run out.
- New map: The “Wharf”
- The new map is titled "Wharf" and is on par with other PvP maps in terms of size.
- The map takes players to an abandoned fishing harbor and offers new tactical gameplay opportunities.
- Free Weekend
- Players who haven't had the chance to play the game get to do so with the free weekend happening on October 17-20.
- The game is also expected to be on sale later this month.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC. The game is also set to launch on the Stadia platform.
