Ubisoft has detailed what players can expect to get in the first year of The Division. This includes both free updates and paid content.
The first update, planned for April, will bring new incursions. Incursions are new missions for high-level players that are designed around smart squad play. Those who walk away victorious can expect to find powerful upgrades and loot. This update will be free to all players.
The second update, coming in May, will focus on the Dark Zone. This free update is said to “change the way you play” in the Dark Zone, but nothing else has been mentioned so far. This update will also bring a new Incursion mission set in Columbus Circle.
June brings with it the first paid expansion for The Division. This expansion, called Underground, literally takes players below the streets to continue the fight. Players can expect to roam around subways and other tunnels while encountering powerful enemies.
The second paid expansion, called Survival, is set to release some time this summer. Based on the video, this expansion seems to limit the number of supplies, forcing players to either scrape by or turn rogue on each other. No release month has been confirmed for Survival yet.
Last Stand, the third paid expansion, will be coming out during the winter. It sees the rise of a new threat who has a very strong army. Based on the trailer, it seems this expansion might bring base-building aspects with it, as the video mentions building defenses to protect yourself.
Other new features coming to The Division for free include loot trading, gear sets, Dark Zone features, daily assignments, weekly assignments, more weapons, Dark Zone events, a Challenge Mode and more.
The video mentions that all of the DLC above, plus a few extra features, can be bought with the Season Pass. The Season Pass comes bundled with the Gold Edition of The Division, or can be purchased separately if you so choose.
