The opening cinematic for The Division has made its way online. Check it out for yourself below.
As we see in the video, the story revolves around a mysterious virus that has broken out in Manhattan during Black Friday.
As the virus spreads and conditions get worse, chaos starts breaking out in New York City. The military begins rolling in to keep peace while supplies start running out.
Things only continue to get worse, as looters become violent. Central Park becomes a massive gravesite, allowing all the dead to be amassed together. Power has run out, and places like Rikers Island prison have completely shut down.
All hope seems lost until agents of The Division, elite secret agents living normal lives while embedded in society, become activated. Once activated, The Division agents get to take the law into their own hands, and do everything they can to help restore order.
This is where you, the player, come in. The Division starts with your created agent getting activated and dropped off in Manhattan. From here, you’ll have to fight your way across the city to restore order, secure key personnel and get everything running again.
