We’re more than a year away from the Thor: Ragnarok release date, so very little is known about the movie. We know that Thor and Hulk go on some sort of intergalactic road trip. The Hulk dons gladiator armor like in Planet Hulk. And now it seems Thor: Ragnarok will also feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, who will be introduced to the Marvel cinematic universe this year in Doctor Strange.
But the real reason to be excited for Thor: Ragnarok is director Taika Waititi. It didn’t screen widely, but his latest, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, is one of the year’s best comedies. It’s 100 minutes of Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Possession, Event Horizon) facing off against a juvenile delinquent as they hide in the jungles of New Zealand from the police. Waititi excels in both kinetic plotting and comedic timing, in both Wilderpeople and his previous, What We Do In The Shadows. If anyone can deliver a Marvel movie as fun and characterful as James Gunn did with Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s Waititi.
Anyway, Waititi , Chris Hemsworth and Daley Pearson (an Australian writer and director who dropped in on the set) both posted photos from the Australian set.

The real revelation is to be found in Pearson’s tweet, the one with Hemsworth holding a creamy yellow business card. The card reads “177A Bleecker St,” the Greenwich Village location of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. Looks like Thor will be consulting the good doctor in Thor: Ragnarok.
