The second and final expansion pack of Doom Eternal, The Ancient Gods Part 2, might be closer than you think. If the recent rumors are to be believed, then you would be able to play the upcoming DLC on March 18.
The Twitter user @ALumia_Italia recently posted the release date of the expansion pack along with four never-before-seen screenshots. Normally, you shouldn’t pay attention to rumors, however, those four images make the leak quite credible.
The screenshots showed new locations, which does make sense as Part 1 also had three completely new locations. We can see as well what seems to be a possessed imp. The third picture looks like an outskirt of a base and the final image looks straight out of The Last of Us.
We will know for sure how true these leaks are once the official trailer of the expansion pack goes live on March 15, which may reveal the release date. The game director, Hugo Martin, also delayed his weekly stream from today to March 17. This leak might have something to do with the delay. The Ancient Gods Part 2 is part of the Year One Pass while Doom Eternal was released on March 20, 2020. It means that the DLC must release within a year of the original game.
Hugo Martin has revealed in the past that the expansion will feature one new weapon, new locations, and some new enemies. If you want to play the DLC, then we highly recommend that you try out the base game first . Doom Eternal was recently added to Xbox Game Pass for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. You can also purchase it on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
