Doom Eternal is about to get a whole lot of content real soon. The highly-awaited expansion pack, The Ancient Gods Part 2, is closer than you might think. Game developer, ID Software, announced yesterday that a teaser of the upcoming DLC will release on March 15.
We don’t know if it will be a proper trailer that shows off new places and enemies, or will it only show a glimpse of what’s coming, so I guess we have to wait and see. The announcement was made via Twitter and there’s not a lot of information available yet about The Ancient Gods Part 2.
But I guess it’s safe to assume that the story will continue after Part 1, which ended on a cliffhanger. We will face the Dark Lord, SPOILER ALERT, who is just a version of Doom Slayer but for the demon side.
It’s also confirmed that we will get some new enemy types. A familiar weapon that was present in previous Doom games will be making a return as well. I am guessing that it’s the Crucible, as it’s the only other existing weapon missing in Doom Eternal.
Speaking of what’s coming in the future, Ray Tracing update and Invasion Mode are still in the works. So, those who are looking forward to these may likely get them. The developer has also promised that they intend to release the Master Level of every Campaign mission. That is probably gonna be the focus of ID Software after they release their final expansion pack.
Doom Eternal is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC. The game can be played on next-gen consoles as well via backward compatibility. However, an official next-gen version is being developed and will release sometime in 2021.
