For the Dota 2 community, the roster shuffle after The International is both exciting and frightening. This is because they know their favorite team is preparing for the new season but don’t know what’s going to happen to the current roster. There have been some movements in that regard.
For fans in North America, there are two good reasons to be happy. The first is that Quincy Crew revealed its new roster, which is surprising. We’ll get to that in a bit but for now, take a look at the new team:
- Yawar “YawaR” Hassan
- Quinn “Quinn” Callahan
- Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann
- Milan “MiLAN” Kozomara
- Remus “ponlo” Goh Zhi Xian
Surprise Moves
For those who can remember, it was sometime last October when it was revealed that the team disbanded. A few days later, Maurice “KheZu” Gutmann said that he was leaving the team as their coach.
It’s then shocking to learn that not only did YawaR and Quinn return to the team but also KheZu returning as a player and team captain. While MiLAN and Ponlo are indeed good additions to the team, some fans are asking why they didn’t sign-up someone from NA.
Staying Strong
Another NA team also made an announcement about its roster. Despite just being formed this January, Team Undying managed to join The International 10 through the qualifiers. After being eliminated in the first round of the Playoffs, some thought they were disbanding. When Kim “Febby” Yong-min left as a coach, it did seem the team was heading that way. Early this month, Peter “Panders” Anders also left as manager.
This is actually the second piece of good news as team captain David “MoonMeander” Tan Boon Yang shared that despite the management departing, “Team Undying is not making any roster changes.” He added that they could have done better in TI but at the end of the day, it was the better team that won. MoonMeander went on to say that he continues to work hard to achieve the dream of winning TI with his teammates.
With this news, what do you think of NA’s chances next season?
