Evil Geniuses ended the regular Dota 2 DPC Season as the team that had the most points. They entered The International 10 as one of the favorites to hoist the Aegis. However, North America’s top team has to say goodbye to the tournament after being eliminated by Vici Gaming.
Quick Recap
EG had a good showing on the first day winning their first two matches. However, they lost their third match on Day One of the Group Stage against Invictus Gaming. They only won one match after that with the rest either losing or ending in a draw. Toward the end of the Group Stage, they had a chance for a possible tie-breaker to enter the Upper Bracket but couldn’t close it against Team Undying.
Elimination
This led to EG starting the Main Event at the Lower Bracket. Their first match was against Elephant and they didn’t have problems with that one and sent the Chinese team home.
In the first game against VG, EG made short work of their opponents and ended the game in just a little of 22 minutes. The second game was a little bit difficult but VG managed to hold on and tied the series.
For the third game, EG had the lead in the early phase. This was helped by Artour “Arteezy” Babaev on Troll Warlord getting his needed items. After getting the Aegis, EG went for high ground and even managed to destroy a tower. However, that would be all that they can do. That's because no matter what EG later did, VG seemed to have an answer. VG eventually went for a GG push and claimed the victory.
With the loss, EG takes home $800,400. But would the roster continue or not?

Remaining Matches
Today is Day Three of the Main Event and there are two remaining matches:
- Invictus Gaming vs. Team Secret
- PSG.LGD vs. Virtus.pro
What makes this interesting is that the winners of each match will secure a spot for the Upper Bracket Final. Why interesting, you ask? Because whoever makes it to that round is guaranteed a third-place finish. That means they already secured at least $3.6 million.
