The world knew Drake’s new studio album was coming sometime in April, but now the man himself has announced the official release date. Views from the 6 arrives April 29.
Drake made the announcement during today’s episode of OVO Sound Radio via Beats 1. Speaking alongside OVO Sound co-founder Oliver El-Khatib at the S.O.T.A. studios in Toronto, Drizzy revealed that he is putting the finishing touches on Views. Unlike his last release with Future, What a Time to be Alive , Views from the 6 apparently features a lot of new music. "It’s not a short thing,” Drake said during the show. “There’s a lot of music on there.”
Drake has been teasing his upcoming album for months now. Whether it’s simple Instagram photos with longtime collaborator/producer Noah “40” Shebib, or cryptic billboards in Toronto, Drizzy has left behind a trail of hints. Now comes the task of predicting which of his recent song releases will feature. ‘Summer Sixteen’? ‘Pop Style’? ‘One Dance’? We’ll find out for sure April 29.
