Ahead of the release of his fourth studio album, Drake has revealed the tracklist for VIEWS, which is now the official name replacing Views from the 6. Topping Drake’s previous high (2011’s Take Care), VIEWS features a whopping 20 songs (‘Hotline Bling’ is a bonus).
A number of these tracks have already been made available to the public, whether via official release or leak. ‘One Dance’ (featuring Wizkid and Kyla) and ‘Pop Style’ (featuring Jay Z and Kanye West, aka “The Throne”), were released together several weeks ago as singles. Unpolished versions of ‘Controlla’ (featuring Popcaan) and ‘Faithful’ (featuring a posthumous verse from Pimp C) leaked around the same time as well.

In a crowd of 20 songs, does something seem missing? It’s ‘Summer Sixteen,’ which premiered on OVO Sound Radio all the way back in January. Many assumed it would be the lead single on Drake’s upcoming album, but the early release appears to have only served as buzz. It’s an interesting omission considering Drake recently announced his Summer Sixteen tour in partnership with Future.
Nevertheless, 20 songs is plenty to get excited about, and the songs we’ve heard thus far indicate that VIEWS experiments with a variety of interesting sounds. It’s a great time for a major rap star to release an album with summer around the corner, and Drake seems fully primed to take advantage. The cover art has been unveiled. The tour dates are posted. Drake even made a trailer for the album -- a trailer for an album! Take a look at those materials below and prepare yourself for #DrizzySeason. VIEWS arrives April 29.
