Even after 5 years, Dying Light is getting some love from Techland. The developers have been constantly adding content and increasing the longevity of the game. Just a few days ago, Dying Light - Retrowave Bundle was made available for the base game. That’s not all, though. Techland announced today that original DL owners will now get Bad Blood for free. This offer is available for both console and PC versions of the game.
Dying Light: Bad Blood is a spin-off to the original game and was released back in September of 2018. Bad Blood offered a new take on the Battle Royale genre. 12 players are dropped into a zombie-infested zone where the last man standing wins. The combat mainly focuses on melee attacks and Dying Light's amazing parkour. This helped it stand out from all the other games in the crowded genre. Unfortunately, Bad Blood was not as big of a hit as its predecessor. The game was released when the market was saturated with countless other Battle Royale titles.
The highest player count for Bad Blood on Steam prior to the free release reached 452, and that was when the game launched. After the announcement, the player count now sits at 991 and rising, which is the highest it has ever been. DL: BB is not a bad game, it was just the victim of bad timing.
Bad Blood is made available as a celebration for the fifth anniversary of the original Dying Light. Techland also said that additional new content and in-game events will come in the upcoming months. Bad Blood is the perfect game to play as you wait for the upcoming Dying Light 2 that was unfortunately delayed.
So what do you think? Are you interested in Dying Light: Bad Blood now that it is free for all Dying Light owners? Or will you rather wait for the sequel? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
