The BLAST Premier matches between Evil Geniuses and Vitality have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
Nuke was the first map of the series. EG started the game with a 6-0 lead before Vitality started to gain momentum. Richard "shox" Papillon from Vitality made an incredible play on round 18 with the UMP. Shox got one kill mid-air, which is rather difficult even for pro players, and then he continued to kill two more players and won the round. Unfortunately, his efforts weren't enough to take the map for Vitality. EG won the first map with a 16-9 scoreline.
The second map was Vertigo and picked by Vitality. Initially, they started strong but EG started getting rounds slowly until EG tied with Vitality, resulting in the 3-3 split. Round 15 was really fun to watch as EG somehow managed to sneak in a plant during a 5v5 situation. After the plant was down, Vitality's shox got an insane double kill with the AWP, and Nabil "Nivera" Benrlitom was able to clear the rest of EG. Vitality dominated EG on Vertigo with a 16-8 scoreline, which wasn’t unusual as it was their map pick. EG, on the other hand, had a terrible game as only Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte maintained a positive K/D during the second map.
The final map was Inferno and likely the most exciting in the series as only a few matches went all the way to the third map. EG started with a dominating 5-0 lead, but then, Vitality shut EG down by overtaking them with a score of 6-5. Both teams gave their beast that led to overtime. Although a chance for Vitality, EG just won every round after overtime started. Thus, they took the map with a 19-16 scoreline.
