The BLAST Premier matches between G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
Inferno was the first map of the series. EG started the game pretty strong with a 6-0 scoreline, and then, G2 started to pick up the pace. On round eight, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte was holding a tight angle in apartments watching the flank. Brehze, however, decided to switch to another angle and watched into the site. This gave a G2 player an immediate flank that resulted in Brehze elimination from the round. If he held the first angle for a bit more, he would have won the round for EG.
EG led the first half with a 9-6 scoreline while G2 performed insanely in the second half, overtaking EG in terms of score. The final round of the match was down to a 2v2 situation, which EG didn’t even bother to try. EG just tried to run around the map and get kills, but G2 fragged them and won the map with a 16-12 scoreline. François “AmaNEk” Delaunay carried G2 with 25 kills.
The second and final map they played was Vertigo. Round 12 was a highlight for EG where they just pushed into the site within 30 seconds and killed every G2 player. The final round of Vertigo was played exceptionally by G2 in a 2v2 post-plant situation. G2 started by getting a pick, making the round a 1v2 situation, and then, played it passively. This allowed G2 to take the series over EG with a 16-12 scoreline, and this time, with Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač carrying G2 with 27 kills.
