Fallout 4 mods are, unsurprisingly, an eclectic mix of practical and inspiring and bizarre. In looking through the Fallout 4 mods offered on Nexus we couldn’t help but take a moment to highlight some of our favorites.
There’s the My Little Pony mod which turns people into ponies because the internet is an infinite chasm of broken childhoods. Brony jokes aside the mod is ambitious, changing art styles in the Perks tree, the pip boy avatar and in-game characters. It’s a labor of love, albeit an unconventional love.
We also loved the gorillas-as-nukes mod. Finding gorillas in Fallout 4 was a strange and wonderful treat and, like most mod fans, we immediately thought about all the potential uses for the gorilla model in Fallout 4. None of those fantasies included turning them into hellfire-raining munitions.
The iDigi favorite in this category, by far, is the John Cena nukes mod. Turning the Fat Man into a John Cena entrance music sound effects machine is everything a mod should be.
It seems to be an unwritten rule that for every fun mod there must be a creepy mod to balance things out. Fallout 4 is no different. Our creepy ass modding favorites include the kill all children mod. If it’s not obvious, this mod lets you kill children in the game. Not that you want to kill childen, per se, but it does ruin the immersion when you wonder “hey what hapens if I shoot a child in the face with a gamma radiation emitting blaster” and then nothing.
There’s also the Scarey Hairy Tecture for Glorious Female Nudes mod. NSFW mods are a given with any game, but it’s great to see a mod turn things up to 11 on the weirdo factor by adding in lots of bushy pubic that nobody wants and nobody asked for.
But our pick for the mod that best captures the wild untamed spirit of mods is the Nicholas Cage Behemoth mod. This gem turns the in-game behemoths into warped version of everyone’s favorite least-talented actor, complete with classic Cage-isms.
The beauty of Fallout 4 mods is that they will be created long after the hype train has moved on to Tamriel, so we will have plenty more mods to dissect for years to come. If there’s any mods we missed you’d like to see featured please let us know in the comments section.
