Ubisoft has no shortage of new games. They recently released two massive titles, Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Another highly anticipated upcoming game, Immortals Fenyx Rising, will be available on December 3. A brand-new IP called Riders Republic will also be making its debut on February 25. So, if you are a Ubisoft fan then you know which games you will be playing for the next few months.
That’s not all, though. There are two other Ubisoft games, Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine, that fans have been looking forward to. Unfortunately, they were delayed into the next fiscal year. We don’t know when exactly Quarantine will release, however, Far Cry 6 might not be too far away.
Far Cry 6 was initially supposed to launch on February 18, 2021. But as mentioned above, Ubisoft decided to delay the game. The new Far Cry 6 release date may have been unintentionally revealed by the Xbox Store. The official listing of Far Cry 6 on the Store showed that the game is supposed to launch on May 26, 2021. While this might not be the official announcement you were looking for, Xbox Store release dates are rarely wrong.
We don’t know much about the new Far Cry game as of right now. Ubisoft has only released a cinematic trailer regarding the game. We do know that FC6 will have Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito as its primary antagonist. Just like the previous Far Cry games, you will be fighting for the rebel side against a tyrannical government.
Here’s the official description of the game, courtesy of Ubisoft.
“Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Anton Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their ruthless oppression has ignited a revolution."
Players take on the role of Dani Rojas, who is a guerrilla fighter looking to remove Castillo from power. As Rojas, players can expect to tear their way through Esperanza, which is the capital city of the fictitious country of Yara. Like in previous Far Cry games, players will be able to team up with both human and animal allies, and use a variety of weapons to take down the corrupt government forces.
