One of the most cherished RPGs in gaming officially makes it return. Final Fantasy 8 Remastered has been released on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The launch is in time for the 20th anniversary of the game's original release.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered features newly rendered visuals that give life to the characters like never before. Players take the role of SeeD recruit Squall Leonhart as well as Rinoa Heartilly as the two work together in order to save the world from Galbadia.
This version includes various boosts that enhance the experience, such as:
- Battle Assist
- This is the ability to have max HP and ATB while also triggering Limit Breaks at any time.
- No Encounters
- An enemy encounter now allows players to enjoy the storyline uninterrupted. As long as enemy encounters are turned off, players can continue to enjoy the story’s event battles.
- 3x Speed Boost
- Players get to play through the game at three times the speed.
Square Enix revealed that the Steam version received additional functions that include:
- All Items: Possess all items except for a few certain items
- All Abilities: Unlock all abilities for acquired GFs
- GF Max Level: Max out levels for all acquired GFs
- Max Gil: Max out number of Gils
- Max Magic: Max out stock for all acquired Magic
- All Limit Breaks: Unlock all Limit Breaks
- All Cards: Possess max number of Cards for all except Rare Cards
The remastered version comes with battle enhancements that allows players to enjoy more freedom in the battles by linking the Guardian Forces acquired. Also introduced is the “draw” feature. In the game, Draw is a command ability that is made available when a Guardian Force is junctioned to a character. This means that during battle, characters are able to siphon Magic from enemies. Players can even stock up on Magic in their Magic inventory. For those lucky enough, they may be able to siphon themselves a GF.
Other new features in Final Fantasy 8 Remastered include new graphical enhancements and new character models in higher definition and enhanced compatibility with Full HD (1920 x 1080) display.
Final Fantasy 8 Remastered is rated T(Teen) and is available for $19.99
