After the mega success of Fire Emblem Fates, a manga adaptation was in the works and slated for a September 2015 release in Japan. On Wednesday, one of the announced creators of the manga revealed on Twitter that the manga had been suspended.
Yusuke Kozaki, the designer for Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates , was ready to collaborate with Fire Emblem Fates writer Shin Kibayashi but in his tweet -- via DualShockers -- Kozaki stated that the manga was suspended due to various reasons.
He apologized to the fans who were looking forward to the manga but still holds out hope that he could work on a Fire Emblem comic in the future.
Here’s Kozaki’s tweet.
The Fire Emblem Fates manga being suspended comes as no surprise, considering it missed its September 2015 release window by a large margin. And once that window came and passed with no news from anywhere, it seemed that the Fire Emblem Fates manga was dead in the water.
Now, the announcement that the Fire Emblem manga is suspended doesn’t mean that it’s cancelled, per se, but it doesn’t seem like a manga adaptation is in the cards any time soon.
