It didn’t take long for dataminers to look under the hood of Fire Emblem Heroes after its release on Feb. 2, and two festive characters were found within the coding of the mobile game.
In a NeoGaf post, two character portraits were published that are based on the holiday season. The first looks to be Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates. And instead of their sword, Corrin is wielding a christmas tree. The second secret character in Fire Emblem Heroes is Tharja. The sorceress comes with reindeer antlers and more Christmas-inspired attire.
With the release of Fire Emblem Heroes , it seems that these Christmas-themed characters were supposed to release during the 2016 holiday season. However, with the delay of both Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing mobile games to facilitate the release of Super Mario Run , it seems players won't have access to these characters anytime soon.
It's not a surprise that Nintendo would delay their mobile games. Not only did Super Mario Run delay the two aforementioned games but Animal Crossing mobile was supposed to release around the same time as Fire Emblem Heroes but to facilitate that release it has since been delayed.
Perhaps Nintendo will wait until the 2017 holiday season to release these two new characters.
Fire Emblem Heroes is available now for Android and ios.
