If you are interested in playing A Plague Tale: Requiem, then you might want to stay off the internet for a few days. The upcoming sequel to the sleeper hit A Plague Tale: Innocence has suffered from a major leak today.
Leaked Footage
A total of one hour and seven minutes of gameplay footage has been uploaded on YouTube. The footage is from the start of the game, containing heavy spoilers. You can’t watch the video for yourself anyway, as it has now been DCMA’d by developer Asobo Studio.
PlayStation 5 Gameplay
The DualSense command prompt proves that the uploader was playing the PS5 version of A Plague Tale: Requiem. The “square” button is not present in Xbox Series X|S; it is only available on PlayStation consoles. The player likely got their hands on the physical version of the game, shipped before the actual release date.
Developer Response
The developer appears not delighted that some eager fans are playing their next game right now. Asobo Studio's recent tweet advises players to wait for the Day One patch. That way they can benefit from all the bug fixes and improvements. It will also stop any spoilers from circulating online.
About the Game
A Plague Tale: Requiem is coming October 18 to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (cloud), and PC. Windows players can purchase the game via Steam and the Epic Games Store. You can check out our previous article to know more about pre-order bonuses and different editions.
The game isn’t available on PS4 or Xbox One, as the developer wanted to efficiently use the new hardware and not worry about a decade-old machine.
Other Leaked Games
Video game-related leaks and rumors aren’t something new in the industry. Just recently, an employee at Kojima Productions accidentally revealed the existence of Death Stranding 2. Heck, even the entire trophy list of A Plague Tale: Requiem was leaked in March.
