Sony made a surprising announcement on its State Of Play live stream news event, revealing a deluge of virtual reality games coming to PlayStation VR. Perhaps one of the spookier options is Five Nights At Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted.
Five Nights At Freddy's VR: Help Wanted is set for an April 2019 release. Not only will it arrive on PlayStation VR, Help Wanted will release for HTC Vive, Oculus, and Steam.
In Five Nights At Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted, players have to fend off haunted animatronics, including scenarios from the original FNAF installments. Of course, there are also new situations – all of which are exclusive to the game’s virtual reality version.
The debut trailer features enemies coming toward the camera while performing their go-to jump scares at the player. Based on the footage, it appears that players must look around for a variety of tasks like handling the camera. To interact with the in-game environment, players can use either the DualShock 4 controller or the PS Move motion controllers.
The PS4 version of Help Wanted adds new and exclusive features not found with other VR headsets. And for the first time in the franchise, players can finally obtain collectibles that can be interacted with. These include, but are not limited to, action figures, bobbleheads, and plushies.
It remains a mystery whether the game builds on the expansive and already established lore of the FNAF series. There is a possibility that it could be a non-canonical game as well.
Five Nights At Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted is being developed by Steel Wool Studios, a virtual reality-focused studio.
