Robbie Amell will return as Ronnie Raymond, aka Firestorm, and now there’s an even more exciting announcement. Rick Cosnett, who played Eddie Thawne until his untimely death, will also appear in The Flash Season 3, the actor told fans on Twitter.
We were first introduced to Eddie as Joe West’s CCPD partner, then as Iris’ boyfriend. We later found out Thawne is an ancestor of Reverse-Flash. You may remember he sacrificed himself in The Flash Season 1 finale to prevent Reverse-Flash (Eobard Thawne) from ever existing.
It’s unclear how Ronnie and Eddie will appear on the show, whether it’s in present day, flashbacks, or an alternate timeline. With Reverse-Flash back in action, running around tormenting the Legends and leading a supervillain group, Legion of Doom, Eddie being alive somehow wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. And because of Flashpoint, anything is possible.
One thing for sure is that both Ronnie and Eddie’s appearance can’t be a coincidence. How do you think they come back from the dead?
