‘The Flash,’ ‘Arrow’ Won’t Crossover With ‘Black Lightning’

Geoff Johns recently said a DC TV production will be officially announced soon and there’s a strong possibility it will be Black Lightning, a series ordered to pilot by Fox from Arrow, The Flash writer Greg Berlanti. Unfortunately for Arrowverse fans, Fox isn’t a subsidiary of CBS, which made things a bit easier for The Flash and Supergirl crossover last year. But considering Black Lightning is yet another Berlanti creation, fans are still hoping to see some crossover action.

We are sad to say that probably won’t happen. When asked about the possibility of seeing Black Lightning with heroes like The Flash, Green Arrow or Supergirl, CBR reports Berlanti said, “I don’t think so.”

“If we’re lucky enough that that exists, that that show exists, I don’t think those worlds will cross over.”

However, we can’t rule out a Gotham crossover down the line. The one good thing about Black Lightning being on Fox over The CW is that Gotham takes more of a grittier, darker tone than The Flash , Supergirl and Legends . Fox’s more low-key superhero show vibe could mesh well with Jefferson Pierce’s street level vigilantism. Black Lightning was one of the first major African-American superheroes in DC Comics and it would be great to see the series follow Luke Cage’ s lead with less of the showy heroics the Arrowverse has nailed down so well.

Are you disappointed Black Lightning won’t be a part of the more well-established Arrowverse? Let us know in the comments and check out the Black Lightning synopsis below:

He made his choice: he hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago, but with a daughter hell-bent on justice and a star student being recruited by a local gang, he’ll be pulled back into the fight as the wanted vigilante and DC legend.
