For quite some time now, Fortnite players felt like Epic Games had no plans of entertaining their opinions. This is most especially the case after issues concerning B.R.U.T.E.S and turbo building changes surfaced. Interestingly, the developers of the game are giving fans the chance to decide what items should come to the official store.
Apart from introducing more balance to Fortnite, the latest update of the game, update v10.30, is all about bringing community repairs. That is because it is giving players the ability to select which items will be be brought to the store.
The update, which is part of the multi-platform update from Epic Games, has brought in a new feature known as Community Choice. As the name suggests, it gives players “the power to vote for what comes back to a new Item Shop slot.” According to the studio, it will offer a choice of content – particularly skins – that players can choose and vote on once a day to bring back to the store.
Since the studio is offering the battle royale mode game as a free to play title, the company is looking to cover its production resources and costs through virtual items available in the in-game store. The bulk of the title’s revenue reportedly comes from emotes, skins, and weapons, just to name a few. The only catch, though, is that some of these items tend to appear in the store within 24 hours before they start disappearing for an indefinite amount of time.
Apparently, this structure did not really sit well with most Fortnite players. Some of them are just eager to buy these items. The idea of adding the aforementioned feature is based on the narrative that a player tends to come back to the game to buy an item if it is made available again. Even the chances of buying the item are said to be higher.
Also part of the update is the return of two of the most popular locations: Greasy Grove and Moisty Mire. In the former, Durr Burger was replaced by a taco store, which is responsible for dropping spicy tacos from the sky.
