With Forza Horizon 5 being announced, Playground Games now seems to be moving away from releasing new content for Forza Horizon 4. The developer wants to focus its efforts on the upcoming Forza game.
It was revealed during the recent Forza Monthly episode in which developers explained how the upcoming game could impact Forza Horizon 4. It was stated that Forza Horizon 4 is receiving its 37th content update today, however, future updates will not feature new content for the time being.
Released in 2018, Forza Horizon 4 has continued to receive a slew of new content over the years, including Forza LEGO and Fortune Island expansions. The game also received an upgrade for Xbox Series X/S in 2020. That upgrade improved the game's graphics and offered players the opportunity to experience the streets of Great Britain in 4K at 60 FPS.
There's no denying that Forza Horizon 4 has been one of the best racing games on previous-gen consoles. The same is expected of Forza Horizon 5 when it comes out in November 2021. There's a lot of good stuff to be said about Forza Horizon 4, including its amazing dynamic weather and season that completely change the feel of the map. On top of it, Forza Horizon 4 offers a vast selection of cars that you hop in and go for a drive.
While Forza Horizon 4 was set in Great Britain, Forza Horizon 5 will be taking us fans to Mexico. From the gameplay footage revealed earlier this month, it seems that Mexico will feature interesting locations, such as ancient Mayan ruins and volcanoes. It appears that the game will also feature deserts and sandstorms.
Besides Forza Horizon 5, Playground Games is working on a highly anticipated title: Fable 4. It was surprising to see that Microsoft decided to revive the franchise and handed the development to Playground Games, which has previously shown expertise in developing racing games. It will be interesting to see how the developer will manage to create a fantasy game.
Forza Horizon 4 is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass.
