The BLAST Premier matches between Evil Geniuses and G2 Esports have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
Train was the first map of the series, and EG started the game by playing aggressively and it allowed them to take six rounds. However, G2 started to counter EG by bringing more Molotovs and other utilities to slow them down. After that, G2 was able to overtake EG with a 7-6 scoreline. Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov of EG clutched a 1v2 situation on round 18 with a sniper. CeRq was able to get the double kill because of G2’s terrible positioning. This allowed EG to take control of the map once again, and since then, they didn’t throw any more rounds. EG won the first map with a 16-12 scoreline.
The second map of the series, Vertigo, was fun to watch. G2 dominated EG this time and took the first half with a 10-5 scoreline. EG was able to pick up a few rounds by making some impressive plays, but G2's consistency let them win the map with a 16-9 scoreline. Nemanja “nexa” Isaković stood out for G2 with 21 kills.
The final map was Nuke and supposed to be the most exciting match, as we get to see one of the teams getting knocked off. Sadly, the match was super one-sided as EG dominated G2. EG won the final map with an impressive 16-5 scoreline, and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte played a vital role in EG’s victory as he carried them with 68 kills throughout the series.
