A new Game of Thrones Season 7 fan theory by YouTuber Alt Shift X has many fans talking about the direction of the show.
This strange Game of Thrones theory revolves around Sansa Stark’s potential suitors. Alt Shift X points to coincidences in a prequel story that kind of match up with Sansa’s story. In short, the prequel story following the adventures of Dunk and Egg, one of which takes them to a tournament for Lady Ashford. There are five champions named in the tournament: a Baratheon, Lannister , Tyrell, Hardyng and Targaryen.
While the order of the champions are incorrect, Alt Shift X argues the Game of Thrones prequel story predicts Sansa’s suitors with the Targaryen being the last. Therefore, Sansa is destined to marry a Targaryen, which in this case might be Jon.
Politically, marrying Sansa would be beneficial for Jon to win over the North once he declares himself a Targaryen. Jon wouldn’t have a problem uniting the North to fight with him to take down the Whitewalkers and potentially take King’s Landing.
However, on a personal level, it’s not something Jon Snow would do. Even if Jon and Sansa came to terms with being cousins, they group as brother and sister. Jon wasn’t close to Sansa like he was with Arya, but they always saw each other as siblings.
Not that George R.R. Martin is above writing about incest, but it’s still too close to home for book readers and show watchers to get behind. A Jon and Sansa wedding would be way too weird. Sansa would eventually have to give Jon an heir and the girl’s already been through enough with Ramsay Bolton.
