While many trivia games tend to be simple rolling, moving, and answering questions, Game of Thrones: The Trivia Game wants to set itself apart by actually offering a good game along with the trivia. Watch out though, as even experienced Game of Thrones fans have claimed this game is for the true experts.

“This is a trivia-based game, but also has a board game strategy component to it," said Cat Miller to iDigitalTimes. Miller is the International Co-printing Coordinator at publisher Asmodee. "It will appeal to both your fans of the show as well as your hardcore gamers.”

One very important aspect to note regarding Game of Thrones: The Trivia Game is that this is for the television series and not the book series. “This is show-based trivia, not book-based trivia," said Miller. "They actually try to trip you up with some questions, where one person will have done something in the books and a different character did it in the show."

Gameplay revolves around players competing for control of key locations on a map. Players gain more and more influence in each location the more questions he or she answers correctly. In a more advanced mode, players can also compete to gain allegiances with powerful character cards. These cards can be cashed in for big gains, but can only be used once as allegiances are constantly shifting.

Miller has read all of the books and has kept up with the series. She said that even she has some issues with the questions. "Surprisingly, a little on the difficult side," Miller said.

Game of Thrones: The Trivia Game is currently listed as being "on the boat" according to the Fantasy Flight website. This means we can expect to see Game of Thrones: The Trivia Game on store shelves starting very soon.
