The latest gameplay video for Gears of War 4 has been released, showing off a small section of the game’s single-player campaign. While we get to see the new characters in action in the video, fans of the series may be more excited to see Marcus Fenix back in action.
As far as gameplay goes, Gears of War 4 certainly seems like it will fit in just fine as a Gears of War game. All of the staples are here, including active reloads, taking cover behind chest-high walls brutal melee kills. Classic weapons are also on display, like the boomshot and lancer.
As for new things, the video shows off a wind storm. As we have previously learned, wind storms will be a major element to the single-player gameplay, but will not be present for multiplayer matches. Players can use these wind storms to their advantage in combat, with the video showing huge pipes getting shot free, and squishing multiple enemies to death.
The video ends with a lightning storm popping up. This storm sends bolts of lightning shooting down to the ground, with players having to dive out of the way to avoid getting shocked.
If you are concerned for spoilers, the video really focuses on gameplay. There is very little context to what is happening, so don’t think the story will be ruined for you if you want to check out how the game looks.
Developer The Coalition also released a new video showing off the Forge multiplayer map. If you want a quick overview of what you can expect, give it a watch below.
Gears of War 4 will be releasing on both Xbox One and PC (with Xbox Play Anywhere) on Oct. 11.
